Why schools sign up

Bridging targeted gaps

Children ages 7 - 15 who could use support with self regulation, executive functioning, impulsivity, inter-personal relationships and more.

Building confidence and advocacy skills

My Outlet builds your students’ confidence and ability to advocate effectively for themselves in the classroom, on the playground and more! That means as a teacher, you have more capacity to focus your efforts on teaching!

Siblings from neurodiverse homes

Children from neurodiverse households may have unmet needs too. They're learning to live authentically, meet their own needs, and better understand a neurodiverse sibling, parent, or classmate. My Outlet offers fun, educational programming that supports these goals and eases the pressure.

Elevating kids strengths

Helping kids discover, appreciate and leverage their strengths, while bringing their weaknesses up to par is a core component of raising confidence. This objective is at the core of My Outlet’s mandate.

How does it work?

The school program uses an adapted version of the original My Outlet program, with three unique sections or blocks, each meant to help stimulate, explore, educate and raise awareness. Our facilitators will guide your students through a set of 15-30 minute activities at each block, with the entire session lasting 60 minutes.

01
Get moving

Physical activity sparks biological changes that encourage brain cells to bind to one another. For the brain to learn, these connections must be made. We prepare participants to reach a heightened state of awareness through 20 minutes of rigorous exercise.

02
Get focused and have fun!

In Block 2, we spend 30 minutes using fun and engaging activities to explore a variety of challenges and opportunities that stem from ADHD, Autism and other neurodiverse types, without calling out labels or diagnoses. All students learn the ways in which they can harness their individual differences to convert them into their own unique superpowers. Students also learn about inclusivity and differences, becoming more aware of the cognitive diversity that exists among their peers and becoming greater stewards of their cohort.

03
Getting quiet

Quieting the mind isn't easy. We get it. That's why we've designed the third and final block around exploring different techniques to help calm your students' mind and body. In this block, we teach a variety of methods (breath work, yoga, meditation, mindfulness and gratefulness), introducing one new technique each visit.
